1. Are women required to say shema by the zeman for krias shema?
2. If yes,and I can’t daven until after I get my kids off to school, should I say the 1st paragraph of shema earlier?
3. If yes, do I repeat that 1st paragraph & the other paragraphs of shema that go with it when I do daven?
Answer:
Like other positive time-related mitzvos, women are exempt from the mitzvah of kerias shema, and do not have to recite shema before the end of zeman krias shema. Get the kids off to school, and daven calmly when the storm is over!
