Jewish Fasts

How many hours does a day’s fast consist on for the Jewish nation?

Answer:

There are 6 fast days in the Jewish religion. Yom Kipur and Tisha Be’av (the Ninth of Av) begin before sunset and end at nightfall of the next day (about 25 hours). And the other four which are the Fast of Gedalyah, Assarah Be’tevet (the Tenth of Tevet), the Fast of Esther and the Seventeenth of Tamuz all begin at dawn and end  at nightfall of that same day.
