Ruach Ra’ah in Netilas Yadayim Bowl

If someones uses a platic bowl to catch the water from nagel vassar nears ones bed:Does that bowl have roach ra’ah even when the water is spilled out? Should one rinse it after use? Also, what if one wants to use the dry negel wasser bowl to hold food like fruit? Can it just be rinsed clean? How can someone remove the ruach ra’ah?

Answer:

Ruach Ra’ah is only present on the netilas yadayim water, and not on the bowl. This can be derived from our own hands: After washing three times, the ruach ra’ah is removed, even though the water is still present on the hands (according to the Vilna Gaon, one washes a fourth time to remove the water from the hands; once the water is removed, there is no longer tumah on the hands).

Therefore, once the bowl is dried, there is no problem in using the bowl for fruit and for other purposes. It is preferable to rinse the bowl first, to ensure that no netilas yadayim water remains.
