For purposes of shtaros, and in particular for gittin, the month is written Marchesvan (with one vav; Even Ha’ezer 126).
Marcheshvan is also used for blessing the new month on Shabbos Mevarchim.
For general purposes of reference, the shortened Cheshvan is often used.
