My property manager (Shomer shabbos) gets paid monthly & insists on getting paid at the beginning of the month. If I pay late (on the 2nd) is there bal talin?
Answer:
If he works for you (I understand he receives a salary for managing your property), and your agreement is that he gets paid at the beginning of the month, then the laws of bal talin will apply for late payment.
Note that the laws of bal talin are detailed, and paying late will not necessarily be a full transgression. However, the Torah obligation to pay on time will apply.
