What Requires Genizah?

What constitutes sheimos? If school parsha sheets come home with full pesukim or a few words from a pasuk is that sheimos? If benchers at a simcha have the name of Hashem with just a “hey” and “elokeinu” what can be done with them? And what about school chumash translation sheets which have loshon hakodesh on one side and the translation on the other? Is there any difference between hand written pesukim and printed pesukim? thanks so much!

Answer:

Full pesukim are certainly sheimos, and must be placed in a genizah.

Benchers likewise contain pesukim, and therefore require genizah.

The same is true for Chumash sheets and so on.

Some authorities were more lenient concerning printed pesukim, but the Taz (Yoreh De’ah 271:8) and others (see Tzitz Eliezer 3:1), and this is certainly the common custom.
