Choice of Sifrei Torah for Zachor

There are 2 sifrei Torah used in a shul on a normal basis. One would say they are on the same “level” in terms of “csav” and “hiddur” however one is older and smaller the other is newer and bigger. Which one should be used for Parshas Zachor?

Answer:

If there is no preference in terms of the kashrus of the sifrei Torah, there does not appear to be a reason to prefer one over the other for the reading of Zachor.

In general, older sefarim are preferred, because their having been read for a longer time ensures that there is no error in the Torah, but if both have been read for over a year, they will be equal.
