Re-Toveling a Bought Utensil

Someone bought a cli that had on it a chatzitzah (a small one) that he wasn’t makpid on at all. He toveled it as it was. Later he gave the cli to his friend who is in fact makpid on such a chatzitzah does the cli need to be toveled again?

Answer:

No.

Once the utensil was toveled according to halachah, there is no need for another tevilah. The fact that the new owner is makpid on a chatzitzah does not invalidate the original tevilah, and therefore there is no need for a new tevilah.
