New Berachah after Checking Mezuzah

If one takes Mezuzas to be checked and puts up others in the meantime – does one have to say a brocha when putting up the checked mezuzas again.

Answer:

Yes, upon replacing the original mezuzah a new berachah is recited.

If mezuzos are taken down for a short time (a few minutes) for brief checking, and then replaced, then there is a safek concerning making the berachah again.

To avoid this safek, the mezuzos can be changed with others (meaning, the kitchen mezuzah changed with the bedroom mezuzah), and by this means there will definitely be an obligation to recite a berachah.

However, there is no need for this if the mezuzos are taken down for a significant period of time (a few hours/days).

Best wishes.
