Two shailos in regards to a woman that conceives outside of the rechem:
An isha that conceived a baby however it began to form outside of the rechem and was born successfully, what’s in the din in regards to tumas leidah (for exmaple if a girl was born that she is tameh for 2 weeks mitzad the leidah)?
An isha that conceived a baby however it began to form outside of the rechem and was born successfully, what’s in the din in regards to making a Pidyon HaBen?
Answer:
If a baby is conceived outside the uterus, the baby is not considered a “peter rechem” (because it was conceived outside the rechem), and therefore it will not have the status of a bechor for purposes of pidyon ha-ben.
See: Shevet Ha-Levi (8:239); Nishmas Avraham (Yoreh De’ah 305:5); Mishnah Halachos 7:199.
[In general, an infant conceived outside the uterus (ectopic pregnancy) will not survive, and the poskim generally discuss the status of the next brother, who is considered a “peter rechem” for purposes of pidyon ha-ben.]
The same will apparently apply for purposes of tumas leidah.
