Pictures that were taken professionally in a Sears Studio that say copyright on the back-can they be copied?

Although the matter involves a dispute among halachic authorities, you should not violate copyright law by copying the pictures in a non-authorized manner.
However, not every act of copying involves an infringement of copyright law, and if the copy is being made for private, non-commercial purposes, it is often permitted even under copyright law.
In addition, if the copy is (significantly) altered, it will not fall under copyright legislation.
