I work for a school where I’ve been asked to do QA on teacher’s recorded lectures. One particular series of lectures is not up to par. The teacher did not do a good job of explaining the material well and also displayed unprofessional behavior. Am I allowed to report this or is it lashon hara?

Answer:

I understand that this is part of your job – to listen to lectures and to report on them.

In this case, of course you should report the matter.

Even if this is not an official part of your job, it stands to reason that the matter should be reported, for the benefit of the school and its pupils (in particular if the teacher behaved in an unprofessional way). You don’t have to express your own opinion about the matter, but only to point out the possible issue, and leave the rest to the higher school authorities.

Best wishes.
