Wrong Name on Kesubah

Hi. I was reading my ketubah last night and realized that my husband’s Hebrew name is wrong. At the time he thought that was right but only years after we got married he found out his real Hebrew name. What should we do? We have beem married for 13 yrs.
Thank you

Answer:

If the name on the Kesubah is actually a wrong name – it is not his name and he is not known by it – then you should write out a new kesubah with the right name, and have it signed by two witnesses.

A kesubah with the wrong name is not a valid kesubah, and it will have to be replaced.

Best wishes.
