What is the berocho for falafel balls without pita?
Most authorities favor the Shehakol berachah, but if one recites ha’adamah this is also fine.
The humus that is used to make falafel balls is not entirely ground up in the balls, so that one can recite ha’adamah.
However, because of the added ingredients and the general appearance of the falafel balls (very different from the original), most authorities favor the shehakol berachah. This is similar to the berachah on cornflakes and on chocolate etc.
