Pesukei DeZimra on the Way

Shalom,
If one is running late is it better to say pesukei dezimra on the way to shul, putting on teffilin and tallis on arrival in between pesukim and complete all of the pesukei dezimra or not say it on the way and to skip and only say ashrei etc?

Answer:

If you won’t have time to say the second half of the Mizmorim (Ashrei and on), which is the main part of Pesukei DeZimra, you should say them on the way – provided that you can concentrate.

Note that the berachah on the Tallis should only be recited after Yishtabach (see Mishnah Berurah 54:12-14). Under the circumstances you should make sure you finish Yishtabach a little before the Chazan, to give you time for the berachos.

Best wishes.

  1. I asked yesterday “pesukei dezimra on the way”. The rav answered to put on teffilin talis after yishtabach based on mb (54:12-13), however this is talking (see rama) of a case where the person recieved them at that time ie. after yishtabach. The mb allows you to say asher yazar in between pesukim (51:8)(see biur halacha 51:4) so perhaps the same din would be here or maybe there he is more makel there because maybe you will go to the bathroon again and lose brocha. See kitzur shulchan oruch (14:1) who says clearly to say asher yotzar after yistabach therefore ge would definately say to put on teffillin and talis after yishtabach. Based on this do you think that mb would still have you put on teffilin and tallis after yistabach or in between pesukim?
