Cemetery on Chol HaMoed

I live in canada and my parents are not alive and buried in Long Island NY. I have not visited them in 5 years. When they were alive I went all the time.

I will be in Long Island over Pesach and do not know when I can come in again. Can I go to cemetery during chol hamoed Pesach?

Answer:

In general the custom is to refrain from visiting cemeteries over Chol HaMoed. Therefore, if possible you should do so before Yom Tov of after.

If this is impossible there is room for leniency to visit the cemetery on Chol HaMoed – though again, you should try to refrain from this if at all possible.

Best wishes.
