Is it permitted to read a Jewish history book in the bathroom were at times throughout the book the author will bring down a Torah thought? (for example Jewish history a trilogy by Rabbi Berel Wein?

Answer:

Being that the book is not intended for the study of Torah it does not have the status of sifrei kodesh and may be brought in to the bathroom. Any Torah thought should not be read and that page should not be left open to in the bathroom.
