Closing Bathroom During Davening

Shalom,
Is there any halachic and/or mystical legitimacy to keeping doors to bathrooms closed, especially during times of tefillah etc. even if not davening across from?
Thank you

Answer:

Very often there is a bad odor emitting from the bathroom, especially in a public place like a shul. For this reason it is proper practice to keep the door shut and not opened  in to a place were people are davening.
