I have been having a High Holiday Seat in my shul for a number of years. The people there talk over me, and also make lame jokes, ect. I find it disturbing, and they will not listen to “shushing”. I do not want any conflicts on the YOMIM NORAHIM. I want to change my seat. If I tell the GABBAI the real reason, is it LOSHON HARA, or should I make up a false excuse for the reason I want to change seats?
Answer:
You can tell him in the general area there are disturbances without referring to anyone specific. The fact that there is noise in that area is probably well known to the Gabbai and the other members of the shul. The Gabbai should also know so as not to seat someone else there who may be disturbed by them.
