Is there a chiyuv to respond to a jury duty request?

Answer:

It is common practice to avoid jury duty. Even one who goes in for a call can avoid serving by answering the questions deliberately in a way which will make him undesirable. Hence there is no halachic obligation to respond to a jury request.
