Buying Plants After Shmitta

I rented an apartment and was negligent in taking care of a mint plant. Wanted to know if there are any Halachik problems in replacing this plant, which is potted and just outside the window, with a similar plant from somewhere like the Botanical gardens. I do not rely upon the heter machira.

Answer:

Plants which may have been seeded and grown in a forbidden manner on Shviis should not be purchased, as their produce/fruit/leaves may potentially be forbidden as “neevad” [forbidden labor] on Shviis. Plants should be bought from someone who kepy Shmitta, non Jews or after the time they may be from the 8th year.
