Writing an Oath

hi

i was wandering if i make i shvua , but didnt say it out loud, only wrote it and then signed it.

is it binding, or do i need to SAY it in order for it to be binding

all the best

Answer:

A shavua [oath] is only binding when actually spoken. However, one has a lesser obligation to keep to his word even though it is not an actual vow.
