maser

Question:

Let’s say Im going to Israel for kivray tzadekem for s few days. Can I pay with maser money towards the car that we are using to go from kaver to kaver ? And the car is obviously used for personal enjoyment between the kivarim. Keep in mind we only have the car for a half a week .

Answer:

There is dispute if one can use maser money to buy mitzvos. Assuming that davening at kivrey tzadikim is considered a mitzvah, and that you would go under all circumstances, you could perhaps rely on the lenient opinions and deduct the difference between the cost of public transport and hiring a car. May your prayers be accepted readily!
