hagofen

Question:

Reuven makes Kiddush on wine Friday night. When Reuven says the bracha of hagofen, he has in mind additional wine that he will drink during the seuda. Later, Shimon his guest comes in. Shimon did not hear Kiddush yet and doesn’t know how to say it. When Reuven makes Kiddush for Shimon and Reuven drinks a cheekful of wine to be motzi his chaver, should he skip the bracha of hagofen since (a) Reuven himself is not in need of a hagofen and (b) Shimon also is not in need of a hagofen?

Answer:

The bracha is part of the kiddush and is considered a ברכת המצוה so therefore Reuven should say it
