Question:
Does Shalach Manos need to be two different brachos or are two different foods enough? How about two kinds of cake?
Answer:
Mishloach manos does not have to be two different brachos, if fact the Shulchan Aruch says specifically that one may (should) give two types of meat, (both are shehakol). It is controversial if the two items may be the same, everyone agrees that one is yotza, if they two items taste different tan each other, such as different types of cakes.
