Question:

My wife gave birth on Monday. 5 Tishrei. What is her obligation regarding fasting on Yom Kippur?

She is generally not a strong faster. She is primarily nursing, but we’ve given the baby 1-2 bottles of formula per day so far.

Thank you!

Answer:

If you, your doctor or your wife feel that it she must eat or it will be dangerous for her, then she should eat “shiurim”. If you both don’t know then she may also eat “shiurim’.  See the following post regarding how to do it. http://dinonline.org/2014/09/29/shiurim-on-yom-kippur/
