bris

Question:

If one is attending a bris milah that is going to be milchigs, may/ should one bring his own meat in order to fulfill his obligation according to all opinions (including Magen Avraham), or is this haughtiness? I feel very strongly that a bris milah should be fleshigs, but others for whatever reason do not conduct themselves this way.

Answer:

It would seem to me that you should not do different than everyone else. It is true that a meat meal for a bris is preferred, but it is even more important not to do things that look haughty, and that might cause people to dislike you. There are times when we do what we have to without being concerned about what others will say, i.e. if one has to put on tefillin or daven, however in this situation that would not be the case.
