teaching torah to goyim

Question:

In a few days from now, I have an assignment for school where I have to bring in a cultural artifact and do show and tell. Can I show them my tzitzis and explain what wearing tzitzis means for a religious Jew? Or would I transgress the prohibition of teaching Torah to goyim? Can I quote passages from the Torah and Gemara?

Answer:

You are allowed to teach it to them. The reason is because you are not teaching them torah. You are only teaching them about one of the mitzvos and it happens to include some verses and ma’amarei chazal, but essentially you are showing them the beauty of a mitzva. Therefore it is permitted.
