Can I buy fruits and vegetables from a gentile

Question:

Can I buy whole fruits and vegetables for pesach from a store that is not kosher and also sells a lot of meat displayed unwrapped on a table in the store or is it preferable to buy from a kosher place 20 minute drive further away?

Answer:

If the produce does not come in contact with the non kosher foods I don’t see a problem with it. In any case you are going to wash or peel the fruits and vegetables, so I don’t see a need to travel extra to buy your fruits and vegetables. If the store cuts the produce, that will be more of an issue, because they might cut sharp vegetables such as horseradish, garlic or onions with treif or chometz knife, and that will make part of the sharp vegetable chometzdik.
