Is there hope for a baal gaiva? What if the person doesn’t want to be a baal gaiva and they try to change but they keep getting stuck in it? When is pride in yourself and your accomplishments okay and when is it gaiva? If someone tries to stop being a baal gaiva, at what point will Hashem accept him/her? Will their past gaiva continue to haunt them?
Answer:
Feeling good about ones accomplishments is not gaavah, feeling that one is better than other because of it is. Ypou should feel good about your accomplishments, as it will encourage you to keep on going.
