I saw many questions here about someone who has student loan debts and other debts and they were answered that they don’t have to give maaser but should still give tzedaka. My question is, do I still have to keep track of 10% of my earnings as money that I owe maaser and just don’t have to pay it right now?
Answer:
A person that is considered an ani at that time and doesn’t have to give maaser, does not have to make it up later.
