Inject on Shabbos to prevent blood clots

Question:

I had a C-section on Tuesday and was given injections to inject myself every day for 10 days to prevent blood clot.
(Lovenox (enoxaparin sodium) Injection is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) used to prevent blood clots that are sometimes called deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which can lead to blood clots in the lungs.)
This is injected in any fatty area. May I do so on Shabbos?

Answer:

Mazal Tov. You should have a refuah shleima quickly and much nachas from your child   Although such an injection involves an issur d’rabonon, it is permitted for you to have the shot on shabbos. However, if possible that it should be done by a gentile or with a shinui, (in a not normal way). Doing it with a shinui may be very difficult, but in the event that it is feasible, it is preferred over doing it in the regular fashion.
