Question:

If I meet with a rabbi or therapist and want to record the sessions for my own personal use instead of note taking because I can’t focus well, is it permissible without asking him? I know in the past when he spoke publicly, he had no issue being recorded but stated that he does not permit recording him when he is giving a chosson shmuez.

Answer:

If it is for your private use only, in order for you to remember what is being said then it is permitted.
