Meat fork in dairy pan

Question:

Hi,
I was making an omelette in a dairy frying pan (not used for 24 hours for dairy) and flipped it with a meat fork (not used in 24 hours with meat). What is the status of the pan, fork and food?

Thank you

Answer:

The pan and the food are fine and may be eaten. The reason is because the fork was not used within the last 24 hours, although we may not use it for milky things, however if it was already used it will not make it treif. Regarding the fork though, I am assuming that there wasn’t any milk or cheese in the omelet, if that was the case then the fork is also fine. However if the omelet had milk in it, the the fork will need kashering.

Best Wishes
