We are preparing for kaparot and we have been asked to submit the names of our family for the berakhot. My husband is adopted but we recently found his birth mother. Which mother’s name should we now put for the blessing? Is adoptive mother who raised him or his biological mom? Thank you.
Answer:
He should use his biological mother’s name. We only use the adoptive mother’s name when we don’t know the name of his real mother.
