When eating wet fruit

Question:

Do you need to wash your hands before eating wet fruit?

Answer:

This idea is brought in Shulchan Aruch, however many (or most) people are not makpid on this because there are opinions that say that this is not applicable nowadays, however many poskim say that one should be careful about this. Additionally, even if one is careful about this one should not make a show of it, and try to avoid having to wash his hands for this reason, as not to do things that appear haughty.

Some other pointer for those that are careful abut this. If the fruit is dried off before eating it there is not need to wash. If the person washed his hands after the bathroom, for davening etc. and knows that they didn’t get dirty since then, it is enough for this that there is no need to wash.
