Pasuk on Toy

Question:

Hi, we bought a stuffed toy Torah scroll. On the front is sown on “ki mitzion tzeitzei Torah” (in Hebrew) (see picture). Is there a problem of letting our child play with the toy? It will undoubtedly be thrown on the floor, etc. Does the toy have any kedusah because of the pasuk? Will it require geniza?

Thank you,
Gmar Chasima Tova.

Answer:

This type of sefer torah is made for very young children, who will inevitably get played with on the floor, therefore it isn’t considered a bizayon for them to put it on the floor. Therefore you don’t have to worry about that, however it may not be taken into the bathroom etc.

Ginzei Hakodesh 2-5 in the name of R’ Eliyashiv zt”l regarding cards, that children play with, which it is the norm that it iwill be put on the floor, that it is permitted since this is the way it is played with, it isn’t considered a bizayon, conversation with author of Ginzei Hakodesh.
