Soak in soapy water and rinse well. Halve about 10% of the berries as a sampling and check inside for worms. If worms are found, each berry should be halved.
It is advisable to inspect the “crown” at the bottom of each berry, to see if there is a small insect inside it (Illustration 158).
Blueberries that grow wild are more likely to harbor infestation.
