Rav Yehonoson Dovid Hool was born in England, UK, where his father, Rav Moshe Hool, served as the Rov of the Kingsbury community for over 40 years.
Rav Hool learned in the Yeshivos of Gateshead, Chevron and Mir, and then studied dayonus at Machon Imrei David under Rav Moshe Mordechai Farbstein. For the last several years he hs been learning at the Institute for Dayanim.
Rav Hool has Semicha for Dayonus from Rav Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg, Rav Shlomo Fisher and Rav Naftoli Nussbaum, and as done shimmush in Gittin at the Beis Din of the Jerusalem Rabbinate under Rav Shlomo Fisher, and in financial arbitration at the Beis Din of Rav Nissim Karelitz, under the auspicies of Rav Yehudah Silman.
Rav Hool has given public shiurim and drashos at many venues in the UK and in Israel, and has published articles on Halachah and Machshavah in various publications, including Hamodia, Jewish Tribune, the website jlaw.com, and the Institute’s own Alon Hamishpat. He has also recorded many audio shiurim on the practical applications of Choshen Mishpat, which were distributed by the Bais Havaad – Institute for Monetary Halachah.
Rav Hool currently sits as a Dayan on the Nesivos Chaim Beis din in Jerusalem.
