Inviting Unaffiliated Jew for Shabbos

Can we invite an unaffiliated Jew for shabbos if we know he will drive to and from our house on shabbos?

Answer:

If you know he will be driving to your house, you should not invite him for Shabbos because this would involve the prohibition of lifnei iver lo titen michshol.

If it is at all possible, you can politely ask him to walk, in order to avoid a desecration of the Shabbos.
