Is it considered kibbud eim if I hire someone else to take care of my mother, and I’m using my mother’s money to do so?

Answer:

There is no obligation to spend your own money for taking care of your mother, and using your mother’s money is perfectly legitimate. Of course, there are certain things that you would yourself be able to perfrom for your mother, and there is certainly a preference of doing so, and performing the mitzvah of honoring parents on your own, where possible.
