The First Convert

I would like to know who was the first person to be a convert to Judaism?
Thank you.

Answer:

Although he was not a ‘formal’ convert, because the Jewish religion was not yet in place, the Jewish tradition sees Avraham (Abraham) as the first convert, because he was the first to recognize the Oneness of G-d, and to shatter the idolatrous practices of his surroundings in coming to Him. Whenever somebody converts to Judsaism, he is called ‘son of Avraham,’ because Avraham is the father of all converts (av hamon goyim).

The first person to join the Jewish people after they became a formal nation was Yisro (Jethro), the father-in-law of Moshe (Moses), who was formally the “priest of Midyan” and joined the nation of Israel in the wilderness.
