New Grinder

I asked someone to purchase a manual spice grinder for me. The person who purchased it for me is not fully shomer mitzvos although she has frum children and keeps a kosher kitchen in her apartment in Israel. I plan to use it for grinding hot red peppers (pilpel charif. I noticed that it had some black pepper remains – I guess she tested it out. I washed it out well with soap. Are there any kashrus issues that I should be concerned about. I do not want to embarass her by asking re the black pepper.

Answer:

There are no kashrus issues to be concerned over. Like every new utensil (that was produced in a non-Jewish plant), the grinder (if it has metal parts) requires tevillah.
