Can you have a gambling (gaming), Maj Jhongg, Bridge Tables on the Days of AWE.
It is appropriate. We would be raising money. we would be raising money for a hospital.
Answer:
The year round, gambling (gaming) is not exactly recommended practice, and therefore it would be appropriate to move the event from the Days of Awe.
Chazal state that even concerning matters that we are lenient for during the year, one should be stringent in the Days of Awe. This can be applied to gaming, which is actually prohibited according to some authorities (the Rambam). Although according to other authorities only full-time gambling is a halachic problem, and occassional gaming is permitted, it remains non-ideal, and should be avoided for the Days of Awe.
