Patronizing Which Establishment?

Is it a mitzvah to patronize a shomer shabbos bussiness (Dentist) as opposed to a non shomer shabbos business even if its more expensive to do so?

Answer:

Yes, one should patronize a shomer shabbos business as opposed to a non-shomer shabbos business.

Some poskim write (Teshuvos Vehanhagos) that this is included in the obligation to patronize a Jewish establishment over a non-Jewish establishment (though of course, it isn’t the same, and one should still patronize a Jewish non-shomer shabbos establishment over a non-Jewish establishment). According to this comparison, one should patronize the shomer shabbos establishment even when it costs more, but there is no obligation to do so when it is significantly more expensive.
