Taking in Students

I’m a recently divorced woman with a two bedroom apartment. Is there an halachic problem with taking in non-jewish girl students, who are here for 2-4 weeks studying in new york city universities or language centers. They are from Europe, all countries. The creators of this business are observant jews, but they do not profile for religion in their business. I can only request that I not be sent from Germany or Islam. The payment from the organization is substantial. A check that is sent every two-weeks.

Answer:

There is no problem in taking in non-Jewish students in exchange for rental payment (or payment from the relevant organization). The only question might arise if your neighborhood/building was exclusively (or predominantly) Jewish (even in this case, there is room for leniency). Assuming that this is not the case, it is certainly permitted.

Wishing you every success.
