Hatov Vehameitiv for New Car

Does one say a Beracha of Hatov Vehameitiv on a new car?

Answer:

For a "family car," which is going to be used for the entire family and not for one person only, one should make the hatov vehameitiv berachah.

The Biur Halachah (223, s.v. banah) discusses somebody who buys a new house for his family, and writes that one should make hatov vehameitiv. Although he mentions some authorities (Chayei Adam) that write that a house is different (because it is an obligation to provide his family with living quarters), all agree that for items that will be used by the family, hatov vehameitiv is made.
