Burning Challah

Hello, I made challa as a zchut. I took off the chala, laid it out in a pan in the oven, and turned the oven on high too burn the chala. After a while the oven smelled like it was on fire and I shut it before the fire dept came down. After all this my chala was only burned on the outer layer and the inside was still white. Is that valid enough for burning? Do you have an easier way to burn challa without my fire alarms going off?

Answer:

If you want to burn the challah, it should be burned completely.

The best way of doing this is by cutting the challah into smaller pieces, before wrapping them in aluminum foil, and placing in the oven at high temp.

Even more effective is to place the challah on the fire (on the stove). A special wire grill can be used, or the challah can be wrapped in foil.
