Why did G-d create Dinosaurs back then, millions of years ago and then after he destroyed them? Wasn’t the world suppose to be created for us and not animals?
Answer:
In a nutshell: I don’t know.
There are many matters whose presence in the world is beyond our comprehension (to varying degrees), including other galaxies, a great deal of evil, all kinds of creatures (including extinct creatures), and dinosaurs.
The fact that we don’t understand the purpose of some of the phenomena in the world is hardly surprising, and it goes without saying that of the matters we think we do understand, the unknown remains far more vast than the known.
Some have suggested (the Tiferes Yisrael) that dinosaurs belong to one of the worlds that G-d created and destroyed (as stated in the Midrash) before the creation of the world. This is a concept that is treated in depth in Kabbalistic literature.
