Kashering Lid

I dropped cheeze sauce on a parev pot lid. Can I kasher the lid in a parev oven.
How would I do it and what does one do with the knob of the pot which is hard plastic (the cheeze sauce did not touch the knob)?

Answer:

The lid should be kashered by a process of hag’alah, meaning immersing it in boiling water.

Placing it into the oven, with its plastic knob, does not sound like a good idea. In principle, the plastic knob can be removed, and you can perform a kashering of libbun by placing the lid in the oven on a high temperature for some time.

However, placing the lid into boiling water (bubbling) sound much more simple.

Note that if both the lid and the sauce are cold, there is no need for any kashering.
